Kyle McDaniel has called Fairfax County home for over two decades. Originally from Mississippi, Kyle moved to Oakton with his family in 2003. After high school, he attended George Mason University and American University, earning degrees in public finance, administration, and state and local government. After a short stint in the federal government, Kyle found a passion for local matters and went to work for the Fairfax County Government.
Kyle left the government to enter the private sector and started two companies with his family. COVID hit, and both companies were closed down in early 2020. With a newborn at home, he quickly pivoted to aviation and became a professional pilot. In December of 2020, Kyle started a flight school at Manassas Regional Airport, and found success in providing high quality flight training with superior customer service. Today, the flight school has a second location in Norfolk, VA and is the #1 rated flight school in northern Virginia. It received the Emerging Business of the Year Award from the Prince William County Chamber in 2022.
With a passion for training tomorrow’s aviators, Kyle has sought partnerships with public schools to create aviation career pathways in hopes of exposing students to the many career paths in the aviation industry. As the dad of two daughters, Kyle decided to run for School Board to protect our Fairfax values, and help lead FCPS out of COVID, into a brighter future. Kyle and his wife, Katie, reside in Herndon with their two daughters, Alice and Charlotte.
